Sharing REPAIR at Street Talk

24th June 2026

On the 24th June 2026, Yolanda Rendón-Guerrero, Assistive Technologies Innovation Centre (ATiC) Fellow at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) and Co-lead of Project REPAIR, presented at Street Talk: Research, Ideas and Innovation, held in Swansea. The event brought together staff, students, industry representatives and members of the wider community to share ideas, research and innovation through a series of short talks.

Yolanda's presentation explored how her background in architecture, digital fabrication and human-centred design informs her work within Project REPAIR and ATiC. She introduced REPAIR's transdisciplinary approach to understanding biophilic living and nature-based solutions, highlighting how the project brings together expertise from the arts, humanities, social sciences, environmental sciences and engineering.

The presentation also introduced the six REPAIR research threads and showcased examples of work currently underway, including research into green infrastructure skills in Wales, the development of approaches to communicate the Biome's performance, and community co-creation activities. Through these activities, REPAIR is exploring how nature-based solutions can support climate adaptation, healthier environments and more sustainable communities.

Street Talk provided an opportunity to share REPAIR's work with a diverse audience and to demonstrate the value of collaboration across disciplines, sectors and communities. It also highlighted the important contribution that partners such as ATiC bring to the project, helping to connect research, innovation and real-world impact.
